2019...A Year of Unknowing

I don’t know about you, but a fresh year seems to help me re-orient my life a bit. I love to think ahead to a new year and set goals, consider longings for change and growth. This year, however, there is something inside of me that says “Don’t set goals. Just allow the year to happen, moment by moment.”

It reminds of me of the Celtic monks, who, early on in Christian times, got into little “coracles”…boats like what you see in the picture, with no rudder…and allowed the current to take them to an unknown destination. They trusted that God would take them to a place of rest, where they could settle and use their gifts for the glory of God. That seems to be in my heart this year, even with this website telling you of all the activities offered.

I’m going to take a bit of a Sabbatical from workshops, retreats and the like. I feel like its a bit of a season of waiting and listening. I’m asking myself questions about what is inside of me around my longings at this juncture in my life. I have a few ideas. I’ll let them percolate for awhile. I’ll keep you posted!
